Two weeks ago (September 27) the Regency Society of Virginia took a little day trip to James Madison's home for a tour of the house and grounds. I must say, we were a well-dressed bunch!
Such a pretty view! |
We weren't allowed to take any pictures inside the house, but the outside was quite lovely! (Minus the scaffolding) |
We were led in through the back entrance. |
After touring the house, we went back to the visitor center for lunch! |
It was a beautiful day for a walk in the woods. |
Which is precisely what we did next! Our tour guide told us all about the various trees we would see. |
And we set off for our big woods walk. |
Brian is in none of these pictures, by the way, because he took them all. Can you tell? |
At this point my camera's memory card was full, so the remaining pictures are from Brian's phone.
After the guided tour of the woods, Brian the Engineer and I took a little self-guided tour of the gardens, because who could resist this view?
I would so love to have a garden like this!
Lovely group of ladies and gentlemen as well as a lovely setting. Looks like a charming visit.
